After-Waxing Care:

 

Thank you for trusting Skincare By Yasmin with your waxing needs. Please follow the guidelines below to ensure your skin is properly cared for over the next few days.

Note: The first time being waxed is always the most sensitive. That’s because we are removing 100% of your hair. It is recommended that you get waxed about every 3 weeks, as by then, the hair will be long enough (1/4 inch) and you will only have 30-50% re-growth, making your next waxing experience less uncomfortable. *Some slight soreness, small bumps and redness are common (temporary) reactions, particularly if this is your first waxing session. These symptoms should subside over the next 24-48 hours. However, if you experience persistent redness or irritation, or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. You’ll need to keep the waxed area clean and avoid heat and friction during the next 24-48 hours.

 

This means:

• No HOT baths or showers (warm or lukewarm only).

• No saunas, hot tubs or steam treatments.

• Do not exfoliate area.

• No tanning.

• No strenuous exercise (as it creates sweat and invites bacteria).

• No tight-fitting clothing.

• Avoid swimming in salt or chlorinated water.

• Do not apply deodorants, body sprays, perfumes, lotions or powders to the waxed area.

After the first 48 hours:

• Gently scrub the skin 3 times per week using a loofah or exfoliating mitt to exfoliate and prevent ingrown hairs.

• Moisturize area daily to keep the skin supple and help new hair to grow normally.

 

*You may notice a small amount of hair re-growth after a week or so. It can take 2-3 treatments for your hair to get on a growth cycle that gives the best results. To maintain your new smooth appearance, we recommend regular waxing every 3-4 weeks. Please do not shave in between your appointments.
