Brazilian Waxing FAQ’s:

Why should you wax instead of shave?

When hair is shaved, within a few days, the hair can be seen at the surface of the skin and coarse stubble can be felt. Shaving commonly results in ingrown hairs, bumps and ongoing skin irritation. When waxed, hair grows back slower, softer and without stubble. When appropriate post-waxing home care is followed, waxing leaves virtually no ingrown hairs, bumps or ongoing skin irritation. Waxing will, over time, make hair growth finer, and hair will become less in volume.

What’s the difference between a Brazilian and a bikini wax?

Brazilian takes it all off. Bikini only removes the hair exposed in the groin area when wearing a bathing suit.

What’s covered in a Brazilian wax?

It includes the bikini line, lips, and perineum/anal area.

How long does a Brazilian waxing last before hair starts to grow?

It takes between 2-6 weeks to grow back but it grows back much softer and not as thick its different for everyone though so this can vary.

How often should you get a Brazilian wax?

For optimal maintenance, you should repeat waxing every 3-4 weeks.

How long should the hair be before waxing?

It should be ¼ to ½ inches long.

What does Brazilian waxing involve?

First, we will do a quick consultation. Next, I will step out of the room so that you can remove your bottoms, get comfortable on the waxing bed, and cover yourself. I will then reenter the room, sanitize my hands, and put on medical gloves. I will then clean the area to be waxed (only uncovering the area that I’m working on, thus not leaving you overly exposed) with a pre-waxing cleanser. I will apply pre-waxing powder to help protect your skin, and finally, I will begin the waxing process, working from the outside inward (during your first visit, I always begin with a bikini waxing, and if you are comfortable with continuing at that time, we will continue waxing the area until all hair is removed. I will then cleanse the area with a wax remover and give you a wipe to clean any waxing residue that I missed after I leave the room.

Do I need to be on all fours for the anal area waxing?

No! I have you roll onto your side, covering the side not being waxed with a towel. When that side is done, I will have you move onto the opposite side.

How hygienic is waxing?

The room is always sanitized prior to treatments. New sheets, towels, and waxing paper is provided for each client. Medical gloves are worn for the entire waxing process. And, I do NOT double dip in the wax pot. A new wax stick is used for every application.

How long does the treatment take?

If this is your 1st time, you can expect it to take approximately 45min to 1½ hours. If you are a regular the treatment should take approximately 20min to 40min but it can vary depending on your growth.

How much does a Brazilian waxing hurt?

The anticipation is the worst. I always try to talk with customers, keeping their minds busy with fun conversation. That way, you don’t concentrate on the pain. Your first time getting a Brazilian waxing is the most uncomfortable. This is because we are removing 100% of your hair, which is very coarse due to shaving. The more times you get a Brazilian waxing, the less hair there will be, and the less uncomfortable the waxing will be. Removing hair directly from a follicle is never a pleasant experience, whether it's your brows or any other area of the body.

Note:  If you are especially sensitive to pain or you are first-time waxing client, you may want to take an anti-inflammatory (such as Ibuprofen) 1 hour prior to your appointment.
